Bloodstock Announces Mercyful Fate, Electric Callboy and Motionless In White as Headliners for 2027
8 Aug 2026
Bloodstock Open Air have wasted no time in revealing a huge first wave of bands for the 2027 festival, including Electric Callboy, Mercyful Fate and Motionless In White.
The announcement was made following Municipal Waste ’s performance on the Ronnie James Dio Stage, continuing Bloodstock’s tradition of giving attendees the first glimpse of what to expect the following year.
Bloodstock 2027 will take place from Thursday 5 August to Sunday 8 August at Catton Park.
All three headliners are now confirmed.
Mercyful Fate Return to Bloodstock
Mercyful Fate are going to be headlining the Ronnie James Dio Stage on Friday night. The last time the Danish metal legends headlined was in 2022, and it’s expected that they will have a new album out, so fans will be treated to both new tracks and plenty of classics.
Electric Callboy Set for Bloodstock Debut
Saturday will bring something completely different. Electric Callboy will be making their Bloodstock debut and are going right to the top of the bill. The electronic metal band from Germany have developed a huge international following over the years, blending electronic music with metalcore and an unmistakable, chaotic live show.
Their announcement coincides with the release of their new album, Tanzneid. Fans have even more to look forward to, with it being their first appearance at Catton Park.
Motionless In White Get Sunday Headline Slot
Motionless In White will close out the main stage on Sunday with a significant performance. Not only is it the band’s first time headlining a European festival, Bloodstock will also be their only UK show for 2027. Chris Motionless has revealed that they were among the most-requested bands at Bloodstock, and now, they are finally answering the call.
Huge Names Join Bloodstock 2027 Line-Up
The headliners are only the beginning of what looks to be a huge weekend.
Acid Bath are the special guests on the Ronnie James Dio Stage, and Green Lung are booked for Saturday. Sunday will feature a performance from Children of Bodom, which celebrates the legacy and music of late frontman Alexi Laiho.
Bloodstock have also confirmed appearances from DevilDriver, Corrosion of Conformity, Imminence, Wind Rose, Sylosis, Decapitated, Witch Club Satan, HammerFall, Hypocrisy, The Halo Effect, Tortured Demon, Gutalax, Humanity's Last Breath and Conan.
Sophie Lancaster Stage Headliners Confirmed
There are some huge names heading to the Sophie Lancaster Stage as well.
New York hardcore veterans Madball will be headlining on Thursday, with Gaerea taking over on Friday. Gaerea have made quite the name for themselves touring the UK, and their latest album, Loss, marks an adventure into modern metalcore with a distinctive dark sound that has helped the band stand out for all the right reasons.
Kanonenfieber will be headlining the stage on Saturday, bringing an incredible show. Their latest track, Meine Lieben, is a standout and cements the band’s dedication to preserving stories from those who lost their lives in the war.
Dethklok will bring the festival to an end on Sunday, with Dool, Pig Destroyer and Fulci also confirmed within the first announcement.
As Mercyful Fate, Electric Callboy and Motionless In White lead three very different days of heavy music, Bloodstock have effectively laid down the foundation for one of the most varied editions of the festival yet.
As this is only the first wave of bands, there’s still plenty more to come. Bloodstock Open Air 2027 is taking place at Catton Park from Thursday 5 August and runs until Sunday 8 August.
Fans attending this weekend can get a discounted early bird ticket for next year from the box office. Those at home can buy tickets in the general sale, which begins at 9 am on Monday, 10 August.
