New Accrington Shop Gives Local Bands a Home on the High Street
30 Sept 2026
A new alternative shop has opened in Accrington, giving local bands a place to sell their merchandise and have their music played in-store.
Satanic Flames, located at Unit 20, Cornhill Arcade, in the Accrington Arndale Centre, is more than a retail shop. It’s a welcoming place for metalheads, goths, neurodivergent people and anyone curious about alternative culture.

The Wear the Noise Project Supports Local Bands
Wear the Noise is a project designed by store owner Nicol to give local and underground bands visibility beyond the stage. Participating musicians can have their merch displayed, and music played in-store.
When Lancashire Loud asked Nicol what inspired the project, she said:
“I’ve always been deeply rooted in the alternative, goth, and metalcore scenes, and I wanted Satanic Flames to be a living, breathing home for our community—not just a retail shop. Lancashire is packed with incredible musical talent, but local and underground bands rarely get physical visibility outside of gig merch tables. I started Wear the Noise to give local musicians a physical home right on the high street, where their music gets played, and their brand gets seen by shoppers every single day.”
As well as displaying merchandise from local bands like Shadow Company and Surya, Satanic Flames makes custom merch in-house.

Ordering a large quantity of shirts upfront can be a significant expense for bands on limited budgets. By working directly with musicians, from new acts to touring bands, Satanic Flames can help them produce merchandise in smaller quantities.
Local Art, Crystals, and Support for Animals
Satanic Flames has dedicated shelves where local artists can display and sell their handmade work. The shop also stocks crystals, herbs, and makes custom spell jars. Nicol wants to share knowledge about unique products and make alternative culture more approachable for people exploring it for the first time.
An animal shelter reward scheme is also in the works. Customers who donate clean blankets, towels, or pet food could then earn points towards shop discounts.
Satanic Flames and Their Plans for The Future
Speaking with Lancashire Loud, Nicol explained her longer-term plans.
Over the coming years, Satanic Flames could become a larger community hub. Potential plans include creating an after-school space and opening a rehearsal room, which would connect younger people with musicians who can provide music lessons.
For now, the focus is on the newly opened shop and its work with local musicians.
Bands interested in Wear the Noise can contact Nicol at Satanic Flames directly, or visit the shop in Accrington Arndale Centre.
