Misery Index Return After Four Years

Death metal veterans Misery Index have ended a four-year wait. Their release, "Feral Future," is the band's first since they re-joined Season of Mist.

The label released many of their previously acclaimed records, including The Killing Gods and Rituals of Power. With crushing riffs, blast beats, and charged lyrics regarding nature and the human race's lack of respect for it, the track highlights important issues with aggression and power.

With Feral Future, fans are reminded of why Misery Index are such a widely respected name in heavy metal.

The band is also currently lined up for a UK tour, with their new album set to drop at the end of the year.

Marilyn Manson Unveils Another New Track

Marilyn Manson has also released a new single, called "Front Toward Enemy." The official music video is out now, and the song is the latest preview of his upcoming album. The new album is called One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 and is scheduled for release on 14 August.

This comes after the release of "Exit Wound" and takes a more industrial-leaning sound that helped to define the earlier era of his career.

Amon Amarth Sound the Gjallarhorn

Swedish melodic death giants Amon Amarth have shared their new single, "Gjallarhorn." 

This is from their new album, The Allfather Awakens. Scheduled for release on 2 October, the album promises the usual Viking-inspired storytelling Amon Amarth are known for, with battle-ready energy that really drives home why they're one of the biggest names in the melodeath genre.

Hatebreed Announce Their Long-Awaited Return

Hatebreed have also released new music. "Kill Count Increase" is from the band's new album, Fatal Paradox. The record will be their first full-length studio album in six years, with a release date scheduled for 6 November.

True to form, Hatebreed's new single is packed with crushing grooves, aggressive vocals and the intensity that has helped to make them one of the most influential acts in their genre.

This week's releases all offer something worth adding to your playlist. With some exciting releases on the horizon, 2026 is shaping up to be a solid year for heavy metal.
