Slipknot Begin a New Era With (sic)est Records
11 Sept 2026
Slipknot have entered a new era with the surprise release of “Arsenal”. This is the debut single from their newly launched label, (sic)est Records.
The metal icons have also established (sic)est Films, which is a production arm. This will give the band control over the more visual aspects of their work. Shawn “Clown” Crahan directed the video for “Arsenal”, which stars Jackson White, best known for his work on Hulu series Tell Me Lies.
This marks the end of Slipknot’s long-running recording contract with Roadrunner Records. The label released the band’s 2022 album, The End, So Far, which completed their contractual agreement.
(sic)est Records is reportedly working in partnership with Roadrunner and Atlantic Records, rather than splitting completely.
The release of “Arsenal” is quite integral for the band, as it’s Slipknot’s first new music since 2022, and the first studio release from Eloy Casagrande. He joined the band in 2024, and brings a technical edge to the track.
The single is also Slipknot’s first release after the departure of longtime turntablist Sid Wilson. Wilson had been part of the group since their early, formative years and soon became one of the most recognisable members, through his manic stage presence and distinctive scratching.
