New Music Friday: Enslaved, Bullet For My Valentine, DragonForce and Crypta
25 Sept 2026
This week’s new music feature covers a lot of ground.
Enslaved have shared another track from their upcoming album; Bullet For My Valentine are back with their first new song in four years, and DragonForce have introduced their new vocal line-up with “Hunger of the Beast”. To round things off, Crypta have released a new single marking a new chapter for the band.
Enslaved – “Tales of Trees”
Enslaved’s latest single, “Tales of Trees”, is from their upcoming album, Mið. Due for release on 30 October, the album also features “Solar Will” and “Spirit Helper”. The new track offers a glimpse of where the band might be heading with their seventeenth studio album.
The song uses trees to explore the complexity of being human. Grutle Kjellson has spoken about how trees flourish or wither depending on how they are cared for, drawing comparisons with the human mind. Musically, “Tales of Trees” brings together the progressive structures and atmosphere that have become hallmarks of Enslaved’s sound.
The band have also announced a UK and European tour with Sólstafir and Gaahls Wyrd, including a London date on Wednesday, 17 February 2027.
Bullet For My Valentine – “Social Apocalypse”
Bullet For My Valentine have returned with “Social Apocalypse”, the title track and lead single from their upcoming album. Set for release on 19 March 2027, it will be their first studio album since 2021.
The band are taking the album on tour in 2027, with a date in Manchester. Dark Divine and Pendulum will join them on the tour. Carl Brown produced the album and has also worked with acts including Sleep Token and While She Sleeps. Matt Tuck has praised Brown’s willingness to challenge the band and bring out the best in everyone involved.
Their UK tour dates are:
Tuesday 23 February – OVO Hydro, Glasgow
Thursday 25 February – bp pulse LIVE, Birmingham
Friday 26 February – The O2, London
Saturday 27 February – AO Arena, Manchester
DragonForce – “Hunger of the Beast”
DragonForce have released “Hunger of the Beast”. They have also announced that their tenth studio album, DragonForce, is due for release on 19 March 2027.
The power metal band has undergone a line-up change, with Alissa White-Gluz and Alessio Garavello sharing lead vocal duties. “Hunger of the Beast” gives fans their first chance to hear how the new vocal line-up works together.
DragonForce have also announced a UK tour with Visions of Atlantis and Wings of Steel. The UK dates are:
6 May – O2 Forum Kentish Town, London
7 May – KK’s Steel Mill, Wolverhampton
8 May – Manchester Academy, Manchester
Crypta – “A Portrait of Decay”
Crypta’s “A Portrait of Decay” is their first new song to feature Victoria Villarreal, who is now a permanent member of the Brazilian death metal band. The song is available to stream on all platforms and has also received a limited-edition vinyl release.
The track explores dissociation as a response to pain and suffering. It was recorded in Belgium in June, then mixed and mastered by Yarne Heylen at Project Zero Studio. Marcos Miller created the artwork.
The release arrives as the band kick off their North American tour with Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Septicflesh and Thrown Into Exile.
